The Purpose
Everyone has a purpose in life. I believe our path is predetermined by our Creator all we need to do is listen, learn and follow . We come to an understanding why we are here. I found my calling – to care for others.
The Journey
My journey started at the very young age. I can’t remember when I gave my first massage, but I do remember that my mom was my first teacher and a “client”. She introduced me to herbs and “old fashioned” (I really don’t like to use that term) folk remedies for minor ailments. She taught me that we have to give our body chance to heal and help it along the way naturally. Growing up in Slovakia I learned that conventional medicine in conjunction with alternative treatments be it nutrition, physical therapy, massage and exercise provided in a medical or alternative setting is a big part of achieving optimal health. My desire of helping my friends and family with minor muscle aches was growing as I got to my teenage years. I had a deeper desire to learn the skill. Life circumstances have postponed to further my education in that direction for later years in my life.
Getting There
Sometimes you can’t rush things and “better later than never” saying finally came to fruition two decades later. In 2010 I have successfully completed Massage and Bodywork Studies Program at the Institute for Therapeutic Massage (ITM) in Haskell, NJ and received my L.M.T. (Licensed massage therapist) in 2012.
Don’t Stop Learning!
I continuously advance my skills, attending hands on courses and online lectures. I am a natural learner and a nerd by choice. In my free time I read medical and scientific reports about new studies and discoveries in health in general. I reach out to scientists, researchers, doctors, and other professionals and shamelessly ask questions to find answers. I like sharing the knowledge related to the body work and welcome input from my clients and pass on their experiences to others.
I’m Here For You.
Massage is my main focus in life now and I will do my best to accommodate my clients in their therapeutic needs. Some come for needed relaxation and just ‘get away from it all’ and some come for their specific needs. If two clients have the same condition the approach to their treatment may be different. A combination of different techniques is used. There are times when my skill is not enough and for the best interest of my client I am not ashamed to acknowledge my limits. A referral to a physical therapist, chiropractor or an orthopaedic doctor may be suggested.
I offer Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Medical Massage, Myofascial Release and lets not forget the feet. Relaxed feet are happy feet.
Client’s well being is always my priority.
In good health,
Marika
Schedule yourself for massage and facial and treat yourself to a Spa Day – a great gift idea. At the same location we offer skin care services by Roni Handler. Many of our clients enjoy back to back services so schedule one for yourself today. My suggestion would be massage followed by facial. Roni also offers electrolysis.
