Applied Balance Massage

As a N.J. L.M.T my massage techniques used include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Medical, Myofascial Release, and Foot Reflexology, either separately or in combination as needed.

Brief explanations of each technique follow:
Sparta AB Massage Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage

This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.

Sparta AB Massage Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.

Sparta AB Massage Reflexology Example

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. Reflexology promotes healing by stimulating the nerves in the body and encouraging the flow of blood.

Reflexology therapy is not massage, and it is not a substitute for medical treatment.

Sparta AB Massage Sports Example

Sports Massage

A contemporary Western massage which addresses specific needs of athletes. Swedish massage, cross-fiber friction massage, deep compression massage and trigger-point therapy may be used. It is designed to enhance performance or promote healing post-injury.

Sparta AB Massage Myofascial Example

Myofascial Massage

Myofascial (my-o-FASH-e-ul) release is a manual therapy technique often used in massage. The technique focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues — the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles. During myofascial release therapy, the therapist locates myofascial areas that feel stiff and fixed instead of elastic and movable under light manual pressure. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/back-pain/expert-answers/myofascial-release/FAQ-20058136
Sparta AB Massage Medical Example

Medical Massage (upper body)

Outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s) the client presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. It is also known as clinical massage or treatment massage. Some clients may require clearance/recommendations from their primary physician.
